Good luck on your crop Xerxes! I hope you heal quickly, and your ears stand magnificently.

Thanks Sparrow. Were back home now and im glad he got through the anesthesia. Hes running around the backyard like nothing happened. Monday its back to the Vet to check incisions. Think im going to put him on white rice and ground meat next few days while hes taking his pain/inflammation and antibiotics. I know antibiotics can upset the tummies. Heres a few pics of his clippings. Ill send more once hes taped up.

It looks lovely er um I mean handsome. Just curious, What is in his ears making them stand up? I have not seen that set up post crop, of course I am a newby and have not seen that many crops.

Thanks guys. Regarding Jadasmom question. Right now he has a post in each ear and tape holding them in place. Im applying antibiotic ointment to the incision site 2 times a day and removing any soft scabs i see. Once ears are healed up and sutures out in 7 to 10 days then ears will be taped up into place.

What a nice crop! Blues really have a soft spot in my heart

When you have a second could you please post a closer photo of the ear post. I'm quite intrigued with how they are done post crop as I've not seen it done that way before.

Here you go Paradis. I would imagine it will remain like this till the incision heal and sutures come out. My last Dane had a different vet do the cropping so this is new to me as well. Im really happy of the outcome. I guess duct tape really does have a 1001 uses

Great pics - he is adorable! I want to squeeze him, lol - I miss the puppy days when they have a slightly chunky look and the face wrinkles and all that skin to grow into! 😊

Pup pulled a stitch so back to the vet we went. Vet went ahead and took the posts out and is doing lazer therapy where the stitching fell out. Apparently they dont resuture and the lazer therapy causes the tissue to granulate. Granulation heals the tissue quicker and no signs of infection. Will be doing lazer surgery daily till Saturday. Here are some pics of his ears flopped down. Cute as hell!
