I know some get frustrated and some laugh but I had a handful of funny/stupid comments in a very short period of time on Monday night. Thought I would share:
1)
Crazy person "is that a Dane puppy?"
Me "yes, he's 4.5 mos old"
Cp "my coworker has one that weighs 50 lbs at 8 weeks old"
Me "wow, that's amazing "
Cp "yours is small compared to hers"
Me "he's ok, we love him anyway"
(side note, my 4.5 mo old weighs 82 lbs)

Another crazy person "is that a Dane puppy?" (that's how they all start)
Me "yes, he's 4.5 mos"
Acp "look at his paws, do you realize how big he's going to be?"
Me "yes ma'am, he's going to be a big boy"
Acp "have you ever heard of a harlequin?"
Me "yes, his dad is a harlequin"
Acp "oh, so he's a mixed breed"
Me "huh?' no his dad is harl and his mom is black, both champion Danes"
Acp "a harlequin is a Dane???? I thought it was a breed"
3)
At petsmart talking to another Dane mommy. She was oohing over his natural ears. Person in line behind her says, "awww, poor thing, are you going to fix them?" here I go again with another mouth hanging open 'huh?'. She proceeds to ask if there's anything I can do since his ears are so much bigger than they are supposed to be and they don't even stand up. I'm still staring in awe of that most recent comment. Luckily the other Dane mommy was able to respond and try to explain this is natural, others are cropped.
