  • Can't find Elevated Food/water bowls...

I've been to petsmart, petco and been searching online but I can't find elevated food and water bowls that are at least 24". Anyone know where I can find this, that's not too expensive.

Check around for a wire plant stand, or tall vase.

Here is one at Target for $15

Mine have straight legs, but were about that price and were from Home Depot or Lowes.

We ended up making our own from oak. It holds two large bowls and a 40 lb bag of food. If you have a handy man/woman they were very easy to do.
Someone in the past attached this link http://www.irondogfeeders.com/garden-collection.htm - These are really neat, but pricey.
      Good luck in your search.

My dog dishes sit on a rubbermaid bin--cost me about $4.99 I think.

Hmm, I never thought of building one ourself before. Thats a possiblity. But I would prefer to just buy one lol. Riley is only 10 weeks and 17 inches, I'm looking for one for the future, so I don't have to look when he's already that height.

LOL! My 'elevated bowl feeder' is nothing more than 2 milk crates put side by side (one for water, and one for food).
You know, the square plastic mesh-looking milk crates? }(

I don't elevate any bowls, there is a lot of conflicting information out there about whether or not its actually necesary. So, I don't elevate.

I don't necessarily think there are any real positives or negatives to it, but I do it because Skyla looks so much more comfortable eating on her level than being all scrunched up trying to eat off the floor level.

We got a nice wooden one out of the catalogues -- Carealot (Caralot?), I think. Dog.com might work, too. Of course, then our vet said the latest study on bloat recommended against elevated feeders and after that, even though I know those studies were far from conclusive, I felt a little guilty/worried everytime I put food in the elevated feeder. So now I put her bowl on a comforter in the family room & about half the time she eats lying down. I also move her bowl around to different places in the house - some days it's lunch on the sunporch, etc. Enough rambling - sorry ..

Wrought Iron Plants stands at Lowes or Walart. Cost about $20.00 a piece I think. There's a picture of it in Cooper's imagestation album. They work great.

I use the plant stands also! I bought mine at Wal-Mart for $4.00. They have many different sizes, colors and styles. The stainless steel bowls fit perfectly into them.

I'm a rubbermaid bin household. Works great, catches the flinging food (Vado is a VERY messy eater) and it also stores his food. Easy clean up. We bought a fancy custom made feeder when we first adopted Vado, but we found the bin worked better, stores his food and was all around a better fit for us.

We use plant stands here too. Found them at a yard sale for a buck each.
