  • RE: How much does your Dane weigh? (Poll)

    Victoria,
Yes it is normal for danes to grow out before up.
My mantle girl is about 22 wks old and she looks
half basset hound I say. LOL. She always grows out
gains weight and then shoots up. She is in a very long
stage right now. I hope she shoots up here soon.

Bree is now 25 weeks, 54 pounds, and 21.5 inches tall. She's going to be a very petite girl I am thinking. I know slow growth is best, but sometimes I worry she's growing TOO slow. Maybe she needs more protein/fat since she's part rottie?

My 13 month old mantle female weighs 98 lbs and is 29 inches, I am extreamly worried because she is shorter than the average danes I have seen and doesnt weigh as much as I think she should. Any body with dane experience please put my mind at rest. Thank you!

                Sincerely,
                Sara :-)

Harley was just weighed by vet this past Saturday. He made 4 months old on the 23rd. He weighed 59lbs. Mark keeps trying to measure him, but he doesn't like the measuring tape :7 he is approx 23 at the withers, as hubby says :7

He is 4 months already ;8

But, he has gone to our back door and hit the knob with his nose a couple of times now, when he needs to go out Hubby and I looked at each other the first time and both said "Good Boy!"

At other times, he sits in front of the door. It is amazing how smart they are. And my friend said Danes are stupid x(

Well, like someone on here said before.... They can look at you with a look that says "what? huh?" but really be hiding something at the same time :7

He is soooooo smart, as are the other danes on here too :7

I felt like such a proud mama about a week or so ago. He finally lifted his leg a little when he went potty out side I was acting like my child had taken his/her first step :-)

Everybody thinks I am crazy, but it was soooo cute. He still squats though, so I am sure it will take a little more time for him to lift the leg. I am only guessing here, but it might be because he is still a little clumsy at times. (true or no?)
