A LOVING TRIBUTE TO...
"Dakota"
DOB - January 27, 1995
Loxley's Dakota Princess. Dakota is our second
Dane; Miss
Cayce, highlighted here among the seniors was our first Dane. Everyone of our
Danes is completely different.
Dakota has had health problems through out her life, but with the help of some very fine vets and many, many credit cards we have been able to keep her healthy and happy. Just a
brief example: bilateral enthropian, thyroid disorder, 2 cervices, poor eye sight, dog and child
aggressive, prone to panic attacks...oh, I could go on for ever. Actually, I've been told, I needed to write down the details of her life and the many problems she has overcome in her journey to this point.
Those that have taken the time to get to know Dakota; feel she's pretty amazing and actually very loving. I know what we've been through has been a real education for me and has deepened my love for the breed. Dakota has the most amazing coat; it feels like cut velvet; everyone loves to touch her because she's so soft; if only they knew!
Behind that soft exterior lives an old sole that has tried drop kicking our late
miniature poodle (not that he didn't deserve it after biting her in the
face)...and oh so many other notable memories...but that's our Dakota Girl! Recently, she had two severe infections which made her
temperature spike over 106. On both occasions it turned out to be an infection which was treatable and she bounced back fat and sassy as ever. Dakota was born on January 27, 1995 - still sassy today and still eating dirt! I'm not quite sure what we will be serving at her 11th birthday party this month (cake or mud pies).
