IN LOVING MEMORY

I could not bear to say the words goodbye, so I held her tight and told her
not to be scared. I whispered in her ear to remember how much I love her and
not to forget it until we see each other again. I then sang "You Are My
Sunshine", because that was one of her favorite things. She would curl up
into the smallest spots when the sun would shine through the window. She
would also lay outside in the driveway when it was 90 degrees outside
enjoying the sun. I could not say goodbye.
To all of the people out there who say "it is just a dog", I am sorry you
have never experienced that kind of love. You are really missing out. She
was the first face I saw for the last 9 years when I walked in the door,
always happy to see me no matter what kind of mood I was in, and the biggest
counter surfer in town. These next couple of weeks are going to be very
difficult for me and little Wheezie, but I know she would not want us to be
sad.
Until we see each other again my sweet gentle giant, I love you to the moon
and back.
