IN LOVING MEMORY
"Maya"
Jan. 4, 2004 - Jan 4, 2009
Yesterday on her birthday, we had to put our beautiful Maya down and are so
lost already. She was such a big part of our lives and now she's gone. She
was diagnosed with Addison's when she was 11 months old. With meds and lots
of love we kept her alive and happy for 5 years. At the end of Oct. I
noticed some lumps in her neck and took her to our vet. He did blood work
and biopsies and diagnosed her with Lymphoma, which had nothing to do with
her Addison's. With 40 mg. of prednisone twice a day her tumors went down
for about 2 weeks and right before Christmas they returned. We were able to
get her through the holidays, but sadly had to put her down. She never acted
like she was in pain, but when she only picked at her food, we knew it was
time. She was getting thinner and weaker and couldn't even jump in the back
of the truck, which was always so easy for her to do. We made the hard
decision, and with regret, realized it was the best one for her. We will
always miss her and will keep her in our hearts forever.
We will always love and miss you baby.
