Coping with pet loss || Grief and pet loss || Pet loss and grieving

A loved one is never truly gone until they are forgotten, live in the hearts of those left behind is to live forever!

Our beautiful boy Beauregard passed away Monday night. He would have been 6 yrs old on June 1st. He had been fighting a bacterial pneumonia that in the end made it impossible for him to breathe and his lungs just gave up after a procedure to install a tracheal tube to force feed him (he was on day 11 without eating). He was still coming out of the anesthesia from the procedure so he didn't feel any pain when he went. The wonderful doctors at Purdue tried everything to save his life. He had always been completely healthy and just woke up one morning coughing, having problems breathing, and with extremely high temp. Eleven days later he was gone.

He was my best friend in the world and I am completely heartbroken and numb. The silence in our house is deafening. Those who have loved a Dane understand this type of devastation at the loss of a beloved family member.

Mommy and Daddy will always love you and miss you, Beauregard. Just behave yourself in heaven.

Goodbye sweet boy.

Best Regards,
Anna and Greg
