Hey Lizgirl... see your a fellow Texan. This is my second Dane. My first dane, the breeder had the ears cropped before shipping him to me. This time the ears were not done. I went online and found a local Houston doberman forum. Pretty much everyone praised a vet out in Cinco Ranch where I live. How lucky was I? Her name is Dr crouch and she has been doing ear trimmings for 30years. I called them on the phone to see if they had ever done cropping on giant breeds and she had. Funny enough the next day a great dane breeder was coming down from Dallas with 12 of her pups to get them all cropped. So i was sold. Cost was 500 bucks whick covered everything including the lazer therapy hes been receiving when he pulled a suture. Staff is excellent... nothing but a positive experience for me and XerxesLast edited by Xerxes; 07-19-2016, 05:13 PM.Xerxes Knight GD (April 29 2016 - present)

Haha.. i know right. Just wrap them in aluminum foil and my tv would be set.
Currently Im still posting but we've had soo much rain here in Houston they got wet. Had to let them dry out for a couple of days before reposting. Its pretty much been an uneventful cropping. The 1 issue we did face, with having so much loose skin on top of his head, was that his ears kept falling forward. I actually came up with a game plan taping the base of his ears and tying it too his collar to prop them up
