  • Add water to kibble. Yes or No?

I have been feeding my dog the "raw meat/bone" diet and recently decided to switch to Orijen large puppy kibble.

Should I add water to prevent bloat? If so how would her teeth get clean?

You can clean them for your puppy once a month with a tooth scraper. You will have to do this while the puppy is young so he/she can get use to it or you can throw a mammoth smoked or meaty bone too. The rubbing action is what keeps the teeth clean.

Couple of points on adding water to kibble. The purpose is to keep the dog from wolfing down his food. You add enough water so that the kibble sloshes around in the water. Then you serve it before the kibble can soak up any water. So when the dog eats it, it's still crunchy.

Also, in addition to scraping, as you may know, you can brush you dog's teeth every week or more often with a made-for-dogs toothpaste and brush.
