  • Some silly retrieve practice

This was the first time working on his retrieve at work, and he's just starting to work with the jump added in, so I still reinforced him even though he paw surfed on the dumbbell and hesitated on bringing it back. We went back to working on a clean pickup on these slippery floors after this video.

Just for fun I thought I'd work on a retrieve of a bully stick, so here's the start.

I know!! When I try to play fetch with Hamish he just looks at me as if to say "Why did you throw it mum? Now you have to go all the way over there and get it"

He doesn't fetch when we're playing, go figure. He only retrieves when given the cue "take it", and so far only completes the whole behavior with the dumbbell. He'd much rather tug or play keep away, the only reason he looks happy retrieving is because he's hoping I pull out the tug toy after a good one!

looks like he is doing really well for you though. Congrats on training, I am still working on come with daisy, she has to think about it for a minute, as soon as I turn and take three steps she comes running to catch up. Not my ideal come response.
