Different age for a female?

Is there a specific time to have a female dane spayed at a different age level as a male? I've heard to get them spayed before their first heat, but I'm sure there are different ranges of age for different dogs, right? My gd is almost 11 weeks old now, and I want to make sure I get her spayed before the official 'heat' season comes for her. At what age does that happen?

Giant breeds typically come into heat around 12 months old. That can vary by a few months either way. You can ask your breeder when your girl's mom and other relatives came into their first heat.

If you plan to spay around 9-10 months old, you'd be pretty safe on getting it done before the first heat.
