  • Classic and I went tick-hunting...

Well, actually I'm pretty sure the ticks were hunting us. We went hiking to practice Classic's off-leash recall and gathered quite a collection of the creepy-crawlers. It took a good hour to thoroughly de-tick him and myself. Gross. There was a benefit to sacrificing ourselves, I did get some good pictures! Not the best, but they get the job done.

"Wait... I really get to go without a leash on? This isn't some cruel prank is it?"

He quickly got over his disbelief and started leading the way.

This one shows the evil smiley face on the back of his neck pretty well.. If only I had known that marking was a sign of things to come...

    Look at his tongue!

Had to post a pic of his gait... I <3 him.

An attempt at being a pointer? Uh, Classic, you need to lift your front leg for that.

I would love to claim that this quick turn-around was a direct result of his amazing recall.... But it wasn't, just mid-trail zoomies.

    That's all! Thanks for looking!

Eeewww they gross me out, my husband has to take care of those things. In my defense I do take care of the frogs and lizards that he refuses to touch hahaha. Your boy is very handsome and I am so jealous of where you get to train. I can't decide what is more gorgeous the scenery or your boy!

Oh you have no idea... I basically had a panic attack when I found the first one on me... then I found another... and ANOTHER! I promptly stripped down, threw my clothes in the washer to drown the suckers and took a shower. I was shaking I hate them so bad. I don't mind pulling them off of dogs but the second one is on me I start freaking. LOL

The ticks are really bad this year, aren't they? I have found them on a couple of the dogs here as well. I also felt one crawling on my head in the truck on the way home. I'm with you Sarah, I can pull them off the dogs, but it gives me the creeps to find them on myself.

Little Ellie Mae had SO may ticks on her little self 2 days ago. Her ears were both FULL of them. A couple of them were huge and full of blood. As big as a grape!

                  beautiful scenery and beautiful dog!!

ugh, ticks!! they've been really bad here for the past couple of years. i broke down a few weeks ago and spent the money on the Preventic collars and let me tell you, THEY WORK! while everybody else is pulling engorged ticks off of their dogs even after using frontline plus, i have only found 3 or 4 crawling on my dogs and that's when they've been chasing wabbits down into the timber.

i was skeptical but i'll be using these collars every year now!

YUCK about the ticks...I'm so glad they aren't bad here in Ontario. Or maybe they are and I've just never seen them.
