I am glad there is no self-promotion. It helps the '52 challenge' to remain more of a group project, and less of a competition. I think voting should be limited to forum users, but that is my opinion. Actually I was sorry to see it become a contest. I am old enough not to strive to win, I am just in it for the fun, and to learn (plus it gets me focused on something each week!). I am grateful you put this together dolmod. thanks again.

That is the intention of the Project.

Voting is limited to registered members. If you are not registered, you cannot vote. That being said, we are watching the votes very carefully to see if people are misusing the system. Email addys and IP addresses are being logged, so that people cannot flood the voting.

We here at DOL like to give things away to our members. We like to keep our member's involved.

I certainly hope it doesn't become a problem. If it does, we will re evaluate.

but yes - a best photo is a best photo, no matter who posted it.

I voted for Leonidas because i really liked the effect of the black and white with the bright shiny new yellow tennis balls.. and that expression is CLASSIC tuckered-out- dane.. i know because mine got a new batch of tennis balls for christmas too!

Thanks for doing running this challenge. I enjoy taking photos and love my Dane, so this will be fun. I am glad it is for members only and that no voting on FB is allowed. Thanks again for doing this!

I didn't have a chance to participate for this first week - but plan on being a bit more organized for the next one! I have enjoyed looking at everyone's interpretation of 'new'

I think of this as a personal challenge to just take pictures every week, learn more about getting better images, plus get new ideas for interesting and fun pics. Secondary to that I will be happy to end up with an "album" of weekly photos of my sweet Logan at the end of the year. And last, I hope to end up with an image here and there that is vote-worthy.

Oh and P.S. - I just love to see pictures of Great Danes!

You can always take a photo for the theme and add it to the theme thread. It won't be included in the judging, but it's nice for sharing. Challenge photo threads will be open for 4 weeks past the weekly challenge.

I'm bad. I voted for my own dog. I'm just a little biased... Haha.

There were a ton of vote worthy photos and I think from now on, I won't vote for my own dogs. But.. They felt left out.
