so I have changed leaps and bounds by joining this forum. I will be honest, I never thought I would want a "rescue" dane. I mean I was always thankful to those who opened their homes to the older dogs in need of a family, I just never thought I would be pulled to do the same.
I worked in a pet store for 4 years, selling puppy mill puppies to people who didn't know any better and where encouraged by my pushing of the puppies. Well the guilt started to eat at me and I quit. Now that pull to help is coming back. and strong!
I finally have a space of my own. I know money is tight, but I can make it work. there are things that I buy for myself, that I don't need. I can make sacrifices to make it work. I have an emergency fund that I don't dip into except for vet emergencies. I also have a Care Credit Account so if need be, vet bills can go on there and slowly be paid off.
I just have to get my landlord to give me the ok for another dog. I hope she does, I already can see him here with us. spending his last years in a house, not in the garage.
the people who have him now, said they got him from someone who was starving him and they put weight back on him, but he chases their cat (they say in a playful way) so he is too much for their house. so he is living in their garage right now. Danes shouldn't have to live in the garage
anyway, I am rambling. I will let you know what the land lord says.
