volunteer needs to fill out a transporter form on the danetrain website if you haven't already. Please contact me directly as I do not monitor this board. Thanks!

    > Dane Train transport for Noel, a 6 month old intact female great
    dane who
    > is deaf and visually impaired. Noel is going to Central Florida
    Great Dane Rescue.
    >
    > I can not stress enough how important it will be to make sure she
has an anti slip collar on as well as making sure she is fastened to
the vehicle somehow. We recommend tethering by fastening a seatbelt
that has been threaded through the leash handle.

    > Reminders:
    >
    > *We request that young children and personal pets not be brought on
    transports.
    >
    > *Do not feed the dog during the transport. No treats, dog food or
    > human food should be given. They can eat when they arrive to their
    > destination. Food will be withheld the morning of transport. This
    > will help prevent car sickness and accidents during the transport.
    > Water can be given freely during the breaks.
    >
    > *All dogs should be tethered using their leash handles and seat
    > belts. By fastening the leashes, there is no chance of escape when
    > car doors are opened.
    >
    > * This transport will be monitored. This means a "center" will be
    > assigned. You are to call the "center" when you have picked up the
    > dogs and started on your leg. If you are running more than 10
    minutes
    > behind or have problems, you are to notify the center immediately.
    > The name and phone number of the center will be posted on the final
    > run sheet. Please write down the number or print out the sheet and
    > take it with you.
    >
    > * If you are able to do a leg, please reply to the coordinator. Once
    > the legs have been filled, you will need to contact your meet people
    > to arrange an actual meeting point. Once this point has been
    > determined, please email the location to the coordinator to put on
    > the final run sheet.
    >
    > *Legs, routes and dates are flexible and can be adjusted as needed
    to
    > accommodate drivers to ensure a successful transport.
