Has anyone had any experience with the Hoytt system - quick brace used for posting on all types of dogs & crops?

Hoytt is a crappy BYB. I wouldn't purchase anything that would financially benefit him.

That being said, I've seen plenty of first time Doberman owners request help on the Doberman forum after having difficulties with this product. It seems to consistently lead to pockets and poorly standing ears.

The best method is simple posts.

It also looks like the top wire part would easily be caught on things. My Finn would have had it ripped off in 5 mi Utes or caught on bushes or his crate. Taping is part of cropping, and there's no quick and easy way to get the ears to stand other than to just tape consistently. Make sure you're prpared to put in the effort before cropping.

Thank you for the insight! Just reading up on different techniques and I came across the system a few times and I couldn't help but wonder. The vet and breeder live about 3 hours away so we are preparing ourselves if we run into difficulties. We were lucky enough to find an awesome breeder only an hour away that holds taping classes or services for her customers and said we could attend. Only day 4 after his crop so a ways to go before taping begins....
