Oh what a cutie pie! He looks like he's doing so well with his head gear. This will be a first for me...to watch from the beginning to end. I usually catch them midway or already done. What crop is this? He looks like he's gonna have some tall ears. Can't wait to hear about his...and your...progress and watch him grow into his new "do".

This is a long show crop! Strait edge... Minimum bell! I a devoted to tapping my youth away... But hey- he's worth it! Thank you all for the wonderful complements! He is doing really well with the hood.... And we have to keep it until the stitches come out( better safe than sorry) but playing with his toys can be hard in the hood!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352854124.955725.jpg

I kept the hood on for awhile too. Plus, that satellite doesn't catch anything compared to the one post-neuter. Looking good! Such a CUTE face!!!!

Oh, and if you haven't discovered the wonders of Gold Bond powder.... I highly suggest picking some of that miracle elixir up.

Yup. It's incredible. Just get the original powder kind.

Need some opinions! My poor baby is miserable with the cone on. Is there any other method to keep him from scratching? He isn't wanting to eat ;( and whines all the time!

                        Scrap the cone

I would take the cone OFF.

I've never used a cone at all with newly cropped ears.

                        Keep him busy & distracted.

Personally, I've only ever used a cone on 1 puppy who had gotten a little infection and wouldn't leave the ears alone.

Every other puppy I've ever had cropped, never used a cone. For the most part, they tend to leave the ears alone...

I've had it off for over an hour and he is a completely different dog! He is so much happier! Thank all of you for your support. He is doing good with leaving his ears alone. I've been using the gold bond to help with the itching- he doesn't seem like he is in any pain. Souls I still maybe give him his pain pill to sleep tonight?

I was worried about the cone too, but I listened to other members, used the GB powder, and took the cone off. No issues.

Plus that cone stinks after a day.
