  • Euro vs American Taping

    Hey guys,

I've heard rumors that it is harder to crop/stand up euro danes compared to american danes?

If it is true, how much harder is it and will my puppies ears look deformed if he is 3/4 euro?

Fletcher was 100% euro and here's how his ended up:
I do think it took longer for his to stand, and I think she had a hard time getting them to stand in the ring. If they're bred right, they will have a real nice natural ear set. Personally I prefer a natural look on big euro heads. There's my $.02

What matters more than "american" or "euro" is ear set and thickness of ear leather. Find a vet who is experienced cropping danes and you should be fine. I believe the most important thing is taking off enough ear. When the bell is too big or there is too much ear left I believe it's harder to get them to stand.

Cbecker, what does your breeder say/recommend? Usually a good breeder has a vet who crops for them regularly.
