Vitamin C and Gelatin supplement?

I've heard that adding vit C and gelatin to your dogs food can help the ears stand better. What is a good amount to add, and is there evidence this really helps?

We use 1500mg Vit C a day on growing pups but some cant tolerate that much you have to slowly increase and make sure no loose stool.
On the gealtin I had the capsules and just put one in their food a day but I dont remember the mg they are.Ill have to look they are in the van in my show bag.
