letting him go today

With so much sadness we decided to let our Skylar go today. ( He is the beautiful fawn in my signature and avatar )
He came into our lives 7 1/2 years ago when never leaving my husbands side at a Dane rescue where we wanted to pick up a harlequin girl . His previous owner stuck him in the back yard and forgot to feed him ......He was 87 pounds at two years old with some serious happy tail . He is an amazing Dane, everything you thought this breed would be and much more . His hind legs are not able to carry him anymore ........even with three other Danes plus a foster this house will be so empty without his presents. I know many of you have gone through this and my heart goes out to you, thank you for letting me babble .........nobody else will understand

We understand and I am sorry. I have a 10-1/2 yr old female that I'm going to wait until Monday and make a decision. Always a hard thing to do. We'll be thinking of you.

i'm so very sorry. each time i learn of a friend saying good-bye to their dane, my heart breaks all over again. you gave skylar the best possible life and you can take comfort in knowing he was so very loved.
