  • Any one with Blind pups?

I've read, and read, and am a member of blind dog forums, but I would like to have some direct contacts with Blind dog owners to help work with me on training ideas.

Leuc is a wonderful boy, but still high steps, touches, & occasionally jumps.

I'd like to perfect my reaction, so that we can totally eliminate them. And it is MY reaction and how I deal that needs to be worked on.

    Thanks!

We have a blind girl, our Baby Annie. I have to hop in the shower and finish the dishes and kitchen. If I have time tonight I'll check back. If not, tomorrow night. I got home late as I pick my Grand-daughter up from preschool and and watch her 'til her Mom gets off work.
~Patty~ I have the right to remain silent; I don't have the ability.

      Blind pup

I had a blind pup that responded very well to simple signing. Best pup in the world! she went to live with a handicapped girl that was partilly deaf and she loved the idea that she was going to teach her "new" puppy sign. Sing is consistant and that what any dog or kid needs.

I would love to but, I cant sign to my blind dog. I have noticed that different tones work better. I do think that he is still in a big puppy stage. With all the dane pups around he has shown us his great capability of being calm, and sure, and no hint of the goofy marmaduke pup he really is.

I think we may be on the right path.
