Well I thought this was going to be a good day...
Elle is my first puppy on my own. Had great danes my whole life, but they were always my parents dog, so not really my problem. Elle is certainly my problem.
I just had a call from the management office in my building that my neighbors are complaining about Elle barking. I'm not home, so I don't know what to do about it! This is her second complaint. I am not home, so I don't know if she's just barking, or if people are walking by, or what. Obviously, we need to put an end to this.
She stays in her crate all day when I'm at work, otherwise my neighbors would probably be complaining that she had chewed through the walls and was inside their condos. (only sort of kidding).
Yesterday at the beach she ran away from me and wouldn't come back when I called her. She thinks it's a game of keepaway.
Luckily the doggie daycare she goes to is wonderful and I called them in a panic and they are going to pick her up and let her go to daycare for the day. However, I can't afford to send her there every day, and really, I shouldn't need to!
I think we need an intensive training session - obedience classes aren't going to cut it. My parents have sent Bella to a trainer that took the dogs for 2 weeks and then came back and worked with them in the home. I guess I need to find something like this - anyone know of anyone in Chicago who does this?
Now here I am, sitting in tears at my desk at work because I don't know what to do!!!
Help!
;(
