  • Canine body language books

Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on Brenda Aloff's book Canine Body Language: A Photographic Guide? We're just looking to understand Isis and Amigo a little bit better. Isis can be a spooky girl and I would like to be able to read some of her cues a little better as well, to help us with her counterconditioning... she is coming along very well, but I think sometimes I misinterpret more positive cues and then we end up a step backwards.

Any other book ideas would be great. Have read much of the recommneded behaviour books already.. (where's the nerd smiley when you need him? )

"On Talking Terms With DOgs: Calming Signals" by Turid Rugraas is probably THE book on canine body language.

Thanks Bill, for input; I have "Calming Signals" and have quite enjoyed applying it.. it is useful, yes - but I am looking to identify fear, interest, posturing, etc. Is there another book by Rugraas that would be similar but identifies other behaviours?

I think there is a video version of the book, too.

Bill, I read the on-line article by Turid and thought it was great.
Will have to check into the book.
