  • Yeah !!!Phantom and Brewser

I am so proud the boys completed thier beginner obedience training last night.:e) They were crowd pleasers and enjoyed the applause.Yeah,Phantom and Brewser!!!We may take the next class in march.I would like to eventually take the training and join a local club that takes dogs into care homes to visit with the sick and elderly. The boys are so gentle and layed back our master trainer thinks they would be perfect candidates.Rhonda

Thank-you ladies,I am pleased.Specially with my deaf guy,he is so quick with body language and hand signals. It's funny i catch myself all the time giving verbal commands, then i laugh at myself.Brewser became a class favorite quickly with dogs and owners.I always was giving Phantom extra loves because i didn't want left out.Rhonda

hi i have a boxer and he's 10 month's old and acouple of days ago we bought a beautiful black great dane and i brought him home and left the boxer inside the house and the great dane in the front porch and made him the best dog house ever
well the boxer is always mad at the gd and i introduced them together and boxer has all he's hairs raised on he's back and he try's to mount the great dane but i yell at him and tell him not to.
            so he stops.
yesterday at night me and my wife took them both out for a walk and we just kept them seperated. everything was fine. oh and by the way the great dane is also 10 month's old.
well today in the morning i let the boxer go in the front porch with the great dane and again he's hairs were up and every time i suspected something i yelled nooooooooo and play nice. it helped.
the question is since u have 2 boys too, is if i should just let them both stay in the house and if they do fight then just yell at them everytime and punish them or should i keep them seperated? sorry for that long mail but i i really want to know if i should let them be otgether or seperated.
            thanks alot
oh and if you can mail me the answer to my email i'd appriciate it since i check it more often.

              >hi i have a boxer and he's 10 month's old and acouple of days

              >the front porch and made him the best dog house ever

Are you saying you are keeping a Great Dane puppy outside in Missouri in February? Great Danes are NOT outside dogs. Their coats are much too thin for them to be in the cold or heat. They don't have the insulation that many breeds do.

              >well the boxer is always mad at the gd and i introduced them
              >together and boxer has all he's hairs raised on he's back and
              >he try's to mount the great dane but i yell at him and tell
              >him not to.
              >so he stops.

Are either one of these dogs neutered? If not, this is a problem that won't fix itself until the dogs are fixed.

              >well today in the morning i let the boxer go in the front
              >porch with the great dane and again he's hairs were up and

Dogs don't have a concept of "play nice". Dogs play by dog rules and with two intact males the game is to see who can kill the other one first.

              >the question is since u have 2 boys too, is if i should just
              >let them both stay in the house and if they do fight then just
              >yell at them everytime and punish them or should i keep them
              >seperated?

You shouldn't punish them for doing what is natural. What you should do is have them both fixed if not already fixed. It will still be a few months before the testosterone is out of their bodies. You can't leave the Dane outside and you have to supervise very closely while they are together. In another couple of months I doubt you will have the strength to seperate them if they get into a serious fight.

              >sorry for that long mail but i i really want to
              >know if i should let them be otgether or seperated.

They cannot be together until they get along. They will not get along until they are both fixed. If they are already fixed, the more they are together the quicker they will learn to live in harmony. Sometimes 2 dogs will never learn to live in harmony but don't give up yet. It will take them a few weeks (if they are already fixed and have been for a couple of months.)

              >thanks alot

I check DOL more than I check my email. Is your email address a typo?
