Well we took Rory to her first training class last night. It was a pretty small class which I'm thankful for..only about 6 other dogs there.
Rory did VERY well. She sat perfectly on command every time.
Then he had us working on walking on loose-lead. Rory loves to run ahead of me and pull pull pull. I've been working with her on it, but after the class I know better what to do/not do. So I'm sure that will work out in no time.
Then we had about a 15 minute play time off-leash for all the puppies to meet and play with each other. She was really great with all the dogs but seemed more interested in the humans then the puppies. Is this a bad thing? I've read on here before that shy or frightened behavior of other dogs may lead to aggression towards other animals later. She was a perfect lady with all of them but 2 of the more "outgoing" pups would run towards her to sniff and play and she'd back away and head in the other direction. She didn't seem "frightened" really...I guess just more reserved...not very social with the other pups I guess is what I mean to say.
At the moment I'm not thinking it is a very big deal because this is the 1st REAL opportunity shes had to be off-leash with any dogs or get nose-to-nose with any.
All in all I'm REALLY REALLY proud of her. We both had lots of fun.
