    Happy New Year!!!

Anyone have any traditions for New Years? On my Golden board they're talking about eating black eyed peas, something called Hoppin' John, eating 12 grapes/raisins at midnight. I've never heard about all these things, have you guys? I need a little bit of luck...just might have to try some of these!

Can't say I've heard about any of theses things, but I may give them a whirl

Eating black eyed peas is the tradition around here. In fact, our last year has been one major issue after another(family deaths, serious illness, etc) and we have jokingly been saying it's cause we did not eat our peas last new years!

My mom's from Georgia and she insists that we eat black eyed peas on new year's eve for luck. I haven't since I moved out of her home years ago, because I think black eyed peas are nasty, but I've not noticed any adverse effects.

Happy New Year everyone! My husband read on his banjo forum about the black eyed peas ritual yesterday. Must be a southern thing because we had never heard of it before.

That sounds like an excellent tradition! We celebrated at midnight with Taco Bell and champange!
