  • Shedding!

I laugh every time I clean the house cause even though Romeo has been gone for a little while now I still find his hair everywhere ha ha. Romeo would shed a lot. He loved being brushed and I did it every other day. I was wondering if your Danes would shed quite a bit as well. Since he was a harl it was weird that it seemed like the only part that would shed off was the white maybe that's cause it showed up better!

Jesse seemed to shed mostly white too. My husband has a pair of winter slippers that he loves because her hairs are interwoven in the material. He says we will always have some of her here.

Yeah it seems Tucker only sheds white as well. He is heavily marked so it surprises me that there seems to be no black hair around.

Cooper sheds like you wouldn't believe! He's a piebald and his entire body, minus his head is white. Apparently the white hair dies faster then any other color and that's why they shed so much. I have to brush him outside or else it looks like it snowed in my house, lol!

Yes, white sheds more....my white cat is horrible. Where I used to work, we did shed-x and the lighter the dog, the more it shed (comparably). White Shepherds were horrible! My moms dane wsa a very lightly marked harl and my god the hair that came off that dog....though she was also on crap food which didnt help and my stepdad was horrible about bathing and brushing.

I'm encouraged when you say you can laugh seeing Romeo's hair on things, means some of your sad feelings are healing.

I lost my black boy "Stone" coming up on 3 years this August. He didn't leave hair behind, he left smears of drool as a reminder/rememberance of his having lived here. I find these in the most out of the way places, and I can now smile..remembering.

Maybe time to start thinking about bringing a new best friend into your life.
