Well we have four dogs and we are going on an Anniversary trip at the end of August. This will be the first time since having the youngest that we have left, and my mom is going to stay at our house. I have already thought about the LIST of instructions that she will be left with. Its a little disturbing...... oh well.

Congratulations on your wedding, graduation and honeymoon - what an exciting time!! Yes, I can definately relate on the instruction books for the dogs. Luckily we have only had to leave them both just once so far. In addition to the instructions, I labeled everything...Bounce's food, Winston's food, Flexicose: Winston - 1/4 oz., Bounce - .4 tsp, etc. I tried to make it as fool proof as possible! Good luck with everything...I'm sure it will all be great!Melisa, Bentley and Ella

I also leave the hotel and cell phone numbers for every person I am with in case they can't get ahold of me.
You've listed the biggies, but for me, the biggies are each about a page long! Once you start writing, you come up with way more stuff...all the things that you do on a daily basis without even thinking about it.Katie & Scarlett

Brian thought I was crazy, but thought better than to open his mouth anymore and said "better too much than too little i guess"...
Vica: You listed most of what you would need.
I am leaving my mom with emergency contacts. Who to call for a ride in an emergency (she doesnt drive), who to call for general questions (breeder, trainer), the emergency vet, the walker that will be coming over.
I also left a detailed health concern section. Since I seem to have more meds for the dogs occasional ailments than for me and Brian, it takes some explaining on the conditions it is to be given, and how much, and how often. Like buffered aspirin, diarehea relief, and simethicone (gas relief), benadryl
ABSOLUTELY include the bloat checklist. I had to leave an note for my parents not to freak out all the time about bloat. (I dont want the dog in the vet every couple of days for a false bloat scare)
When leaving your baby with someone who isnt usually with them, it is harder for them to determine when something is really wrong with them and they are not themselves. So maybe it would help to include the dogs normal activites and lifestyle so they can determine when they isnt feeling right.

My parents actually asked for directions for Tucker when they watched him for 5 days. I'm so proud of them
I did measure his food out in baggies for them though, I'm a dork.sigpic

We just got back from our 5 day vacation yesterday and my parents watched Miley. I left her a page of instructions and she was laughing at it, she did have it up on her fridge though. Overall Miley did well, she just got into a couple of things that she shouldn't have, but no major damage. We have eyes on her 24/7 at home, where as at my parents they didn't watch her as close. We now call my parents house the fun house and our house the boring house
Good luck with everything!!!
