  • CGC and unaltered dogs?

This coming Saturday a "Canine Carnival" is being held in my city. They are offering CGC testing. My question is can an unaltered dog that is not registered take the exam?

Yes. They do not need to be registered to do CGC or de-sexed.

I just went to the AKC site about the CGC and quickly read the rules, it doesn't say anything about the dog being altered.

Yes, that isn't a problem. CGC is open to any/all dogs.

I'm sure you already know this, but the only thing you wouldn't want to do is take a bitch in season. That would cause chaos. Other than that, your good.

Good Luck! Tell us how it goes!

If we are not camping or fishing I may give it a try with both dogs.

Good luck!!! You might want to practice the tests at home this week just to be sure they're ready. Never hurts to walk them through it!
