Kes - named after a Star Trek character (and I've got a Saint called Trekkie... hmmmmm.... LOL!!)
Tia - because she was Gold'N Tiara
Fox - a "glacier" themed litter and there is a Fox glacier in New Zealand... and it's WAY easy to say!!
Not to be left out, our other Saint Doozer... who was named after the little construction dudes on Fraggle Rock!!

Taylor (mutt dog) - because she was such a tomboy we needed something not too girly

Kaiser - German for Ceasar . . . but yet fit his goofy personality

Bishop - Adopted at 9 months, and kept the name.

Ronin - was going to be Augustus, but we were on another website and I saw it and it just fit

Thor Kourt's First Lady of Song - Ella

My grandfather was a jazz musician, so we went with a theme.

Murphy- was named after Padjo Murphy's Irish Amber beer, originally came to us as Merlin but it just didn't fit
Moose- was Zeus but it didn't really fit either, he was too dumb and goofy to be anything but a moose
Oakley- he was Mowgli but I just don't like that name (especially after Ashley Simpson named her kid that) so we found something else that rhymed

Whisper - is named after a certain bullet; it's sleek and steel blue, like a blue Dane!

Some of our more recent Danes to go to the Bridge:
Zip - formal name von Zipper; DH names our Danes, so all explanations are strange.
Woof - this is a good one, formal name Woof Blitzer (CNN, get it?)
                  Ann & John and Navy (b. 1/5/14)
                  Whisper (Avatar 3/9/07 - 11/19/13)

Zip (2000-2007 - waiting at the Bridge)

I liked the name Gabbie off of Desperate Housewives.....but spelled it with a "ie" to match her registerd name "Southern Sweetie".

I thought Jackson was a good southern name to match "Southern Legend".

Goose- was origianlly Brutus, but it was a mouth full and didn't fit him. I had wanted to call him moose but my fiance said it reminded him of the word moose knuckles so that was a no, and goose rhymed so it stuck.

Grant- at the shelter was Punky, I started out calling him Winston but it didn't fit him. I tried to think of grey things and though about Granite and got Grant.

Morgan- she is a girly girl and needed a girly name

B4 we got Goose i had wanted to name all our animals after famous american in history (Ulysses S Grant, J.P. Morgan, and i had originally wanted Goose's name to be Tyler but Casey didn't like it)
                            Kendall

                              My two new boys are:
Zephyr - derived from the Greek word zophos meaning black or dark.
Gilligan - named after the TV show, Gilligan's Island because he's just a big goofy clown who is so bold but innocent at the same time.

My last dane was Bogues, named after Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues, a former Toronto Raptors basketball player who is still the shortest player to ever have played in the NBA at only 5'3!. Bogues was the runt of the litter and I adopted him with the name at 15 months old from a work friend who was moving and could not take him with her.
                              Bogues - b. October 2nd, 2000, p. January 1st, 2009
                              Zephyr & Gilligan - b. December 18th, 2008
