Hey, I just saw that Merlot and former foster Dane Georgette's photo is on the Kuranda bed web site. The two of them are side x side on a Kuranda!

Go to this link and click "Bed Finder" on the right side of the screen. Select Great Dane and you'll see the two of them: http://kuranda.com/catalog/aluminum_bed.php

TOO COOL!!!! My danes LOVE their kuranda bed - need to get another now that we added Ronin to the mix ..... but they sleep on their futon most of the time now, unless I need to sleep in.

OMG, the "boof" thing cracked me up! That's exactly the noise I associate with Danes! (well, that and "pffffft", lol).

Desi will act like something really exciting is happening outside. She will run to the window, bark and stomp her feet. Must be something really good, so Murray will get up and check it out. While he is checking it out she will run take his spot. Murray just stands really close and stares at her, "I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you." When that doesn't work he will go find a high value toy to trade, which doesn't work either, so he just sits on her. Works every time, though she sometimes growls and nips him. AHHHH Doggie politics.

LOL! That is also a noise that is well known in our home!

Lissa - just an FYI - PetSmart currently has some rectangular dog beds that fit PERFECTLY ontop of the XXL Kuranda bed! I paid $39.99 I think - They love it!

OMG Gus used to do the same thing. If Elliott was on the spot on the couch next to me, he would charge the door barking like crazy, Elliott of course would get up to see what all the commotion was about & Gus would trot right past him and onto the couch. He would also do this if El had a bone he really wanted. The funny thing about this is that we don't have a doorbell so nothing brings them to the door barking, EVER.

When El was a little pup, Gus would trick him into doing bad stuff and then come tell on him, I figured this out one day when I caught Gus egging him on and then getting up to tell me what he was doing.

He was always good for a laugh.

Harley, our dane doesn't like the fact the little dog gets to jump in the bed, now, realize my fiance is still SOUND asleep, Harley hasn't figured out how to jump in the bed so he will get as close to Rob (my fiance) as possible and starting barking, almost every morning Rob about jumps out of his skin. He helps Harley into the bed curls up with both of them and goes back to sleep.[/quote]

                      This is just too funny!

Todd does this to Linus too! Linus can be playing w/ a toy and if Todd wants it, all he has to do is let out a couple barks and Linus is up and 'woof'ing too. Then Todd runs over and snags the toy.
