Just a thought. As a social worker, we work closely with animal control, when we remove children, they end up removing the pets. Folks who abuse animals, abuse children too. The two go together.

I know Andi...Animals (abuse/neglect/etc) and children go hand in hand.

She doesn't have any children. Thanks!

I can't believe she is still there! I hope the news station takes the story! Like you said Patty, does she check their health? That could all of the dogs at risk...yikes I can't even think about it

After reading this thread, I had a realization.
I don't like dog parks, and I would never trust a doggy daycare, and I disliked having to leave my dog at grooming salons (I learned to groom what I have).

Maybe I am just hardcore overprotective?
            LOL
Or MAYBE until I read this thread I had forgotten the specifics of a particular grooming shop I worked in for a short time (years ago) that was owned by a raging alcoholic. I never saw abuse, just falling down drunk. (Think of that with water, scissors, clippers and hands on dogs.... scary stuff.)

            I really really had forgotten.

Wow. That's just appalling. Franchise or not the parent company is just as at fault. I'm sure everyone remembers the McDonalds Hot Coffee lawsuit and they are mostly all franchises also. We hope you get the story run.

I am not a fan or dog parks either. I won't take my dogs to one.

I think, managed properly, that doggie daycare can be a godsend for some pet owners.

Ava wasn't doing well crated all day while I was at work. She needed something and this was the best I could do-or so I thought-lol.

                I can't imagine a crocked groomer

Today the Florida Dept of Ag went out there. The owner could not produce any vaccination records on the dogs At first she said she didn't have 'them filed'. They told her that was ok they still wanted to see them. Then she said she didn't have all of them because the owners didn't bring in legible copies. lol! They gave her a week to come up with them.

Also, Volusia County Animal Control went out there.

It seems that until something horrible happens to one of the dogs AC can't do anything.

I am finding that I am not the only person calling all of these agencies. They are getting a lot of calls.

I'm working on some other things. Next week I am on vacation. I am going to copies of all the police reports and work on contacting some more agencies, BBB, licensing agencies, etc.

As long as she is there caring for animals I will not stop.

what if you sat outside in the parking lot and told the people that drop or pick up their dogs what is happening? some probably have no idea. if people don't go she will be forced to go out of business!

sorry you had to go through this and thank you for going forward and not backing down!

I'm planning on doing that. I want to get the copies of the police reports first-I'll pass them out. Seriously, I plan on doing as much as I can.

I've lived in this area since the 70's and I know a lot of people.

Oh my gosh Michele, you are such a trooper! What a mighty task you are undertaking! I cannot believe that the AC can't see what a danger it is to these animals...how is the threat of danger not enough?

Good luck and keep us updated...

What's kind of scary is that AC can't do anything until something happens. Does a dog have to be seriously injured or die in order for someone to take notice? I just don't get it.

                                Pretty much

The good thing is a lot of agencies are watching her. A lot of others are complaining too. She has really given herself quite the name in the few months she has been open.
