How sweet!! Looks like they are having lots of fun. Your boxer is a lucky one. We have a boxer behind us that never gets any attention except by us and Rocky. He comes to the fence and whines for us to talk to him. I'll never understand why people get dogs or cats for that matter and toss them in the backyard and pay no attention other than food or water. When they do come out they just yell get away, stay down. Course he jumps around, has no training and just begging for someone to pay him some attention.
Em, They are wonderful pics of Wahi and Ariki! I am so happy that you've adopted Wahi and she looks like such a sweetheart! She will thrive with your TLC!

She's an absolute love and SO smart - she's much more crafty than the boxer and a faster learner.
My problem right now is getting them to play gently together - she's huge and he's tough so they want to play rough but I cant have them bleeding all over the place! I mostly just break them up but I'd rather they learned how to play well together. Any ideas?

That's really sad. I dont care how difficult a dog is, you ought to at least give it a shot. Ariki and I had a foster boxer back in March who was a really damaged dog - SO much aggression. We tried for almost 3 months but I had to give her back to the rescue when she grabbed Ariki by the throat and shook him. If she'd only had a little love and attention as a baby, yanno?

Our Baby's best friend is a Boxer she misses her sooo Much since we moved!
I found that they played verry rough because they are rather compatible sizes ulinke our cat who she nudges gently. But when they carried their rumbling & tumbling in the house i found a slow but strong and calming tone worked to settle them i just repeat "Gentlllllle" and it kind of hipnotises them.... sorry if im stating the obvious or repeating the basics i just know it works for us

Thanks for the tip! I've been breaking them up but I might start to see if I can get them to settle on their own!
