Ludington (or nearby-ish) Vet and Trainer?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for some recommendations for a Dane vet and a trainer as well.
We are near Ludington, but there's obviously not much around here in general (there's not even a Pet Store!...just Meijer, Walmart, TSC) and only a couple of vets which didn't really impress me with their Dane knowledge/comfort - not like I would like them to be anyway - one of them when I call to ask some questions said, "Yeah, I think we have seen one or two other Great Danes...Let me look at their files and see what we did with them"
So, does anyone have any comments about where to go/stay away from in the surrounding area? I don't mind a bit of a drive if it means trusting them to do a good job.
As far as training goes: it doesn't sound like my girl is going to have to much to work with in the way of behavior training but I would like to do it anyway since I haven't had a dog since I got married and I think it would be a good refresher for me and I think it would be a good bonding thing for us to do together. She does have some nervousness around new things that the rescue had started working with a trainer on with her and I would like to continue that a couple more times I think.
If you don't have any recommendations from your own experience, do you know of a good website with listings that I could call around to? I'm having trouble finding anything like that.
    Thanks!

TC is a little over 2 hours from us and so a little too far for us to drive for classes. I think I'd rather go back GR so I could see friends while we made the trip if I can't find something a little closer. Does anyone have any GR trainer recommendations if that's the case?
I believe that the same trainer that does the classes in Traverse City has expanded and is/ or was offering classes in Cadillac now also. Not sure how to get in contact, but, if memory serves correctly, he also breeds Golden Retrievers.

Think I found a good one.

Lily and I had our first vet visit together today. She still needed a few staples taken out (she cut herself on a fence at her Foster before we picked her up) and a nail trim. I wanted more time to research but alas, the staples didn't give me as much option so I went and tried the "best seeming" one here in town and figured I could look further for future visits. But...I think I like this one. (Country Veterinary Clinic on Stiles - I saw Linda Waldo) She seemed pretty knowledgable about Danes and made me feel comfortable. We'll see how things go in the future, but so far I like her!

    Yes!
We took our rescue foster to Whiskers University in GR. Kristie Swan is a dog behaviour specialist and trainer, and she met with us at our home as well to work with our foster on his anxiety and nervousness.
I highly recommend her or any of her staff that teaches/trains!

We aren't too far away from you as we are in Baldwin.

I have not had any luck finding a vet in the area that is knowledgeable about danes unfortunately. We go to Country Veterinary Service in Reed City; I like Dr. Miller the best but have also seen Dr. Barbara Todd. Without a dane savvy vet, I have found you have to do your research and be firm with what you want/don't want in the way of treatment for your danes. And certainly don't listen to them on their nutrition information. If you find a good dane vet in the area in your searches let me know!

As for training, we have never used a behavior specialist, but I travel up to Traverse City for our puppy kindergarten/basic obendience classes. If you need a recommendation for that let me know, as I would certainly recommend her!
