Glad to hear it was nothing serious! And better to spend the money and know for sure. Hindsight's 20/20, and this is an expensive breed to own

          Thanks to all!!

So basically, the vet sent him Carprofen 75mg capsule 1 pill 2x daily and also Tramadol 50mg 2 pills 3x daily. She said "Pano" doesn't go away overnight so she sent us 30days of pills but told us to check back in 2 weeks.

We gave him a first dose yesterday when we came home and then went out to dinner, figured we needed a break. When we came home he was back to normal. Some doggie porn as my friend calls it....

On the way to dinner we also stopped for some new food. Even though we are huge online shoppers, my husband wants a food we can source locally. So we ended up going with Blue Buffalo Wilderness Large Breed - Chicken -Holistic - 100% Grain Free. Hope this will be OK.

I got a probiotic to sprinkle on during this period, but I also want to get him off the pills as soon as possible so I am hoping with the change in food and supplements he will be able to.

We had a bout with Pano when Sarge was about that age. One day he was fine, the next he wouldn't get up to go potty. We immediately switched him to a raw diet and the vet gave us an anti-inflamatory that I can't remember the name of now, but it started with a p. Once he was on the meds, he improved very quickly. He had one more flare up since then, and again the pain meds (this time Deramaxx, and a new vet) cleared it right up. The second time, his flare was immediately after a trip to the river. I honestly can't remember if anything 'happened' to induce the first flare, I had a week-old newborn at the time so things are a little foggy.

He hasn't had any issues since, but the vet told me generally after 18 months it clears up all together, so we've been kind of extra cautious. I don't let him run in the house on our wood floors, we take him out but limit his activity on outings.
