I am new to Danes online. I got my first Dane last summer, a 2-year old Fawn named Zira. After two short months with our beautiful girl we lost her suddenly due to an unknown blood clotting disorder after routine spay surgery. What a heartbreak! I knew then that I would always have a Dane. They are the closest thing to angels on earth. We brought home our second Dane in August, a Blue name Emmy. We finally had her spayed at 6 months, very scary considering what happened with our Zira. Of course she made it just fine. We just put a deposit on a new Fawn pup, born January 23rd. We'll be bringing home our little Nova in mid-late March and and sooooo excited! My question is, does anyone have any suggestions on how to introduce a new puppy to my rambunctious Emmy (my kids call her the "Dane-vil")? We want to take precautions to make sure she does not get too rough with our new puppy, yet we want them to get to know each other. Emmy has always done well with other dogs, but we are concerned.
