Hi, I wanted to know about OCD in Danes and whether anyone has had success in treating with confinement rather than surgery. We have been quoted $4500 (AUD) per shoulder to remedy. The female pup is only six months old. She replaces our 18 month old boy who ate toad fish (Australian fish with poisonous flesh) and passed away within 2 hours of digesting. We have had some bad luck of late and I just don't know how much more death and grief my daughter can take. Her father passed away suddenly last March also. If we cannot afford the surgery is it best to have the pup euthanized sooner rather than later? What if she were to recover with rest or managed with cartrophen injections? She doesn't seem to be in any pain and limps intermittently on one leg only, apparently she has the disease in both shoulders.
