Why not just melt it in a little bowl and let her lap it up plain if she'll eat it in liquid form? Why does it need to be served with food?

the potato will act as a fiber and help flush things out. although ocassional diarrhea is a pita, it is not the end of the world, and if it helps ensure there is no more cat hair stuck in the GI system.. well, its a compromise.
of course, isa gets hers with a little soy butter and molasses
