The important thing is to look at the calcium/phosphorous levels.. Calcium not over 1.5 phosphorous not over 1.0.. (be careful if a food lists it as Min. 1.5 cal, min 1.0 phos and doesn't list the max... since this can mean that the levels are too high for a pup 12 months and under. Also look at ingredients... a named meat/meat meal source should be the first 2-4 ingredients and a named fat source no closer than 4th.. NO corn, wheat, glutens, fragmented grains, soy,

Out of those two, the Eagle Pack formula is better than Natural Balance LID. Long term feeding of lamb based food is detrimental to dogs.

That really isn't the case any more.. the things that use to be lacking in a lamb diet have been rectified and it is no longer an issue in good quality foods.

I know this is an older post but I use eagle pack giant breed puppy formula, my 5 month puppy seems to be doing very well on it, though his poop is soft serve sometimes

What adult food do you recommend? I find it difficult to figure out the best food for Great Danes.
