I have been reading a few posts about it being okay to give dane puppy high protein food. We have found a distributor of canidae within 70 miles of us and that is what our dogs are eating. We will be getting a new puppy within 5 weeks and am wondering if the grain free Canidae will be ok or should I give something else?

It should be completely fine as long as your pup does well on it. You are looking for a calcium and phosphorus % between 1 and 3. Anything above 2.5% is boarding on too high and could lead to growth issues. Also make sure the food has vitamin E, D, and C in it. All are important for healthy steady growth. Some suggest 500mg of vitamin C a day to add in overall health of your dog as well.sigpic
