I am mostly a self taught artist, although I did have some
training when I was younger. Years later, armed with my love of dogs and horses, I began
painting my first commissions in 1997. Dogs have always been very special to me, although
I do love to paint all animals. Some of my work can be seen at the AKC Museum of the Dog
in St. Louis, Missouri. My work has also been shown at the annual art show at the Museum
of Hounds and Hunting in Leesburg, Virginia.
I work mostly in water colors and some oils. I like to try different mediums, including
sculpture! I live in Warrenton, Virginia with my husband, three dogs, and one Dane! We
have 13 private acres and have had a horse or two, but none currently. Eventually, I would
like to turn the paddocks into huge dog runs and maybe get into rescue and fostering at
some point in my life!
If you have an interest, some of my artwork shown below is for sale. They are done
indifferent sizes, so please email me and I will give you the details. I am also available
to capture a likeness of your favorite animal at a very reasonable price. Please email me
at dogasaurous@earthlink.net for more
information. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Dana Thompson
